The crib is gone. My little girl, my youngest, my princess, has moved on from the crib to the “big-girl bed.” Seeing as Mrs. Billfer and I are both content with the familiy as it stands, the chances of me re-assembling the crib are small. In addition to the big bed, she is pretty close to being completely potty-trained with diapers only worn as a precaution at night.
With the crib gone, and the diapers dwindling, the last vestiges of baby-ness are leaving the house. While that does make me a little sad, it is more of a relief than anything else. A relief in the sense that we got through it. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed both my kids as babies and I look back with fond memories. But it is time to put that in the past…at least that’s what I’m telling myself.
